So, we'll keep the stories going and the memories alive as will the next generation and so on and so forth, as long as we remind each other the importance of being connected, being family, being human - the book will only remain as a memory to those who chose not to listen to the hearts and voices of those who dared to venture and share their stories - thank you for sharing yours! Namaste. Believe me, once I got over my shock, I was delighted to see them. And I told our tenants to feel free to give us a call, even at 4:00 am, if they spot or hear something that doesn't seem right. As I have serious insomnia, and am regularly up at 4:00 am, I, too, keep my eye out for any activity I may spot on the street. (My computer room is basement level, but something heard at that hour would get my attention.) Mme. I woke up to a burglar in my bedroom and a flashlight in my face and had to wait at least 10 minutes (an eternity in the middle of a crisis situation) for the police to make it in.

I would have gladly paid the police department to have had your outcome, rather than complained to them, particularly because they entered not only with permission but because they'd been asked to enter by a legal occupant of the house. No different if you'd called the police and your tenant woke up when they'd arrived.

As it stands, my guy is still at large and I haven't slept with the lights off (and that's when I sleep, which is not so frequently) in three months.Catherinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00825740791198007780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1583151555096847072.post-78854565126088573342009-10-09T07:22:13.779-07:002009-10-09T07:22:13.779-07:00Yeah Dog Parks! I am glad that your neighbors understood the value and advocated for it.

"If my dog is barred by the heavenly guard
We'll both of us brave the heat!"
W. I was once a believer that if you use drugs it’s your responsibility and I had no sympathy or empathy until I visited one of the intake-centers and listened to some of the folks who have come a long way and drugs and alcohol in some cases were no fault of their own. Some parents put them on drugs for different reasons, some lost everything and had no hope, some were in abusive situations and the list goes on. I really feel like this world is becoming the cold hearted place the devil was hoping for...but I am not giving up...To all the addicts who read this...where there is darkness, there is light!!!imdiedrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00821205624059933339noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1583151555096847072.post-86026499277160446522009-09-10T20:48:28.183-07:002009-09-10T20:48:28.183-07:00Thanks for taking the tie to write aboutDC life/go...Thanks for taking the tie to write aboutDC life/good and bad.

Keep going !!!

Also, want to invite you and your readers to the DC Historical Society this Sunday, Sept 13th 2.30pm. to hear panel talk about Mayor'Boss'Shepherd..our 1880s colorful mayor who helped build the infrastructure of the City.

Free..230pm..8th & K Sts.NW' Green/Yellow Metro, Gallery Place, 2 blks north.
